Living by Faith

Feb 15, 2026    Andre Pretorius

This powerful message confronts us with a life-changing truth: we are not justified by our works, but by faith in what Christ accomplished on the cross. Drawing from Galatians 3:11 and Romans 3:20-25, we discover that righteousness is not something we earn or grow into—it's a gift freely given the moment we believe. The sermon challenges our self-perception as sinners, reminding us that while all have sinned, all are also justified freely by His grace. Like Peter walking on water, we learn that our faith remains strong when we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus rather than our circumstances. The woman with the issue of blood demonstrates how hearing about Jesus stirred hope within her, which transformed into faith when she acted by touching His garment. We're encouraged to examine whether we're truly living by faith or merely hoping for change. The distinction is crucial: hope waits for the future, but faith brings hope into present reality. By watching our words, immersing ourselves in Scripture, praying in the Spirit, and keeping our focus on Christ, we build the kind of faith that doesn't just believe God can heal—but confesses that by His stripes, we are already healed.
